“Not in the slightest. Remember, this isn’t just about keeping you safe. All the other Ghosts following you are depending on you. I can only lay down cover fire, but keeping them safe is up to you.”

“It’s just so heavy. I still can’t believe we rigged this Cabal tech to work like this.”

“A little surprised myself, not gonna lie. But we did, and good thing too, because we need to get those spectral network Ghosts out of that hot zone, and it looks like the only option is frontal and direct. They’re going to be vulnerable, and they don’t have Guardians of their own to look out for them.”

“I can do it.”

“OK. Try extending the shield one more time.”

“...Oof! It works, but it’s a bit unwieldy...”

“Hey! Careful how you swing around. You’re a lot bigger than you’re used to with that shield out.”

“You don’t think it’s a little... rushed?”

“I admit we made the modifications hurriedly, but diagnostics all check out, and we built it according to spec from the simulations. It should work.”

“Has anyone ever tried to dive in Titan’s oceans before?”

“You mean since the Golden Age? Can’t say I’ve heard of any attempts. Could be someone else already had the bright idea to turn a Ghost into an autonomous submersible. Maybe the Spectral Network has tried it.”

“Well, we’ll have to try to claim the record. That’s the least you can get me for putting me through this... assuming it works.”

“It’ll work. There’s no question your core can survive any pressure you’ll encounter under there. The shell’s just for improved aquadynamics and sensor resolution.”

“Very comforting. And you really think we’ll learn something new about the Hive on Titan by diving to look under the surface?”

“Yes—but if not, maybe you’ll catch a shot of that sea monster that everyone talks about. That could get you another record.”
