This beautiful couple saw each other for the very first time on September 6, 1965. 54 years ago today. Happy First Time I Laid Eyes on You Day, Mom and Dad! They always had such vivid accounts of that day. Mom still does. In fact, I would not have even written this post today had Mom not brought this very important date to my attention earlier this week. Mom was working at a company named Amalite, Inc., on 1884 Pitkin Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. On 09/06/1965, Dad walked in looking for employment. As fate would have it, he found so much more than a job. Upon seeing each other, each had the inkling that they would be married to the other one day. The rest, as they say, is history. This occasion brings to mind the lyrics of a song that was first released in 1975 entitled âHow âBout Us.â It was by a group named Champaign. The title song from their debut album. And it goes something like this: âIt's just that I have seen (what have you seen) Too many lover's hearts lose their dreams (we won't lose it) Chorus: Some people are made for each other Some people can love one another for life How 'bout us Some people can hold it together Last through all kinds of weather⊠Amen. They sure did. #MomandDad #specialdate #truelove #truelovelivesforever (at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2E_w5Rnwg7/?igshid=1af49biyecc0p
