“I’ll just go.”

Ian shifts when Mickey tries to move past, trapping him between Ian’s body and the stairs.

“Hey, no, don’t..”

“Why? This can’t be fun for you. You’re so— and I try— fuck, Ian. I don’t mean to hurt you, but I do. I’m not worth it, man.”

They’re both silent.

Then.

“You’re worth it to me.”

Ian manages to shut off the water before it floods the entire apartment and leaks to the downstairs neighbors. He comes out of the bathroom, pulling off his soaked T-shirt as he goes, and sees his husband stuffing things into his backpack. 

"Mick, what are you doing?" 

"Leaving." 

"Why are you leaving?"

"I'm a fucking born disaster, Ian. You'll be better off without me." 

Ian's imagination flashes with helicopter blades, gay club lights, T-shirts that say GAY JESUS and finally the flames of a blazing van. 

He hugs his husband and smiles softly.
