I dislike AVID for many reasons but one reason that made me really dislike it is how they treat kids who have trouble with people or crowds They are actually total assholes about it where I am from back in the day in middle school my mom said it would be good for me to join avid to learn how to be organized and social and raise my grades Nope did the exact opposite the kids in AVID were less then friendly since they all had there own groups of friend and I just appeared out of no where so I got back lash lots of it Teachers noticed of course I was shy scared I didn't talk to anyone so to fix that they set me up with the very group of kids who lashed at me in projects if I asked if I couldn't present in front of the class I would be the first one to go If I cried I would fail the project and would have to go again the next time I cried every single I was miserable I was failing most of my classes since most of them were AVID invovled You know which teacher cared for me and actually helped me with my problem ? My geography teacher or history I'm not sure anymore but she was the kindess to me and she was the only Teacher who wasn't in AVID A girl accidently smacked me in the face with her backpack strap pretty hard and she saw but my teacher did to and immediately made her apologize to me she was so nice to me for no reason I passed her class with a B But yeah AVID if you wanna join just be careful in it If your scared of talking in front of people be careful AVID is not a friendly place for people who are scared
