During the last few years, whenever I have visited the beautiful Spa Town of Buxton, I have been frustrated to find the glorious Buxton Crescent still undergoing a long-term renovation. This past weekend, however, it was a real treat to discover that this work had now been completed, and The Crescent has been revealed in full glory. The Crescent was built for the 5th Duke of Cavendish in 1789 and subsequently served various different functions. The Crescent was in dire need of extensive refurbishments, and after multiple failed plans, it was turned into a luxury 5 star hotel and spa. Following 17 years of renovation work, The Crescent opened as @ensanabuxtoncrescent with elegant interiors, a wellness spa and restaurants. ___________________________________________ #buxton #highpeak #derbyshire #markettown #spatown #peakdistrict #buxtoncrescent #thecrescent #ensanahealthspahotels #spa #hotel #restoration #renovation #architecture #architect #cavendish #design #architecturedesign #royalcrescent #historicbuildings #historiclandmark #georgian #georgianarchitecture #johncarr #5starhotel #architecturephotography #spring #stannswell #dukeofdevonshire #design #francismatcham (at Buxton, Peak District) https://www.instagram.com/p/CWtMtkuIbbw/?utm_medium=tumblr
