Angry vent posts are fine and good but I don’t like people pretending that they are somehow activism or something. Most of them are very uncharitable because well, they are angry and emotional and the people writing them aren’t trying to look at shit from other viewpoints and as a result have really narrow views and often as a result harmful takes when they get blown up and passed around with thousands of reblogs. Everyone basically devolves into screaming toddlers who can’t seem to communicate why they are actually upset.

Also my empathy is not great. I have some gaps in it. To deal with that in general I try to break down situations more and try to see why people might feel a certain way about something even if I cannot understand it.

I also have had A LOT of trouble in the past with people misunderstanding me. I haven’t had as many issues recently (I have a feeling some of it is practice trying to have discussions like this) to the point I was sort of laughing today redoing my about because I ended up rewriting MOST of it... except there is a disclaimer that dates back to my freaking livejournal account saying my wording is not great plz do not dogpile me before clarifying what I mean.

I have done it, but personally I am not big on backing people for a comic they’re thinking about starting. Maybe make a blog for the comic and post teasers and background info for a while to generate interest and then open the Patreon when you launch the comic?

I don't know a lot about Hognoses, but it is breeding season for many North American colubrids right now so maybe the enclosure change spurred that with her? One of my corns always goes off feed over breeding season, and everyone is roaming nonstop. That's something you just have to wait out, if that is the explanation.
