I need you to know that I have started the city of brass and I am loving it (and I made the mistake of checking your blog to make sure it was you who had read it and while there were no major spoilers there were spoilery vibes so I just jumped right back out)

The ending of kingdom of copper was Amazing and I enjoyed every moment of it. That being said I was screaming and crying for the majority of it. IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOD AH

6. Was there anything you meant to read, but never got to? Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff. I don't think I will get to it this year! And Beautiful World, Where Are You, by Sally Rooney. Maybe I'll do that one in the last week or so of the year, since it's quite short. I just need to prepare myself for pain.
9. Did you get into any new genres? Not really, but I did get better at reading nonfiction! I have read 10 nonfiction books so far.
17. Did any books surprise you with how good they were? YES. Beneath the Keep by Erika Johansen, the prequel to the Queen of the Tearling series, I didn't know what to expect, and it was SO GOOD. Also the Captive Prince series. Once I pushed passed the first book, it was *chef's kiss* Also The Gameshouse, by Claire North. Sometimes, you read a book and just marvel at how brilliant a writer is, and wonder why they aren't more popular. That's Claire North, to me.

10) something you’ve created in the last year that you’re proud of (a playlist, a piece of art, some writing, a craft hobby, a social media account, etc) I have created a lot of things! I made pain au chocolat a month ago and I've never made anything croissant-like before and they turned out AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. They took a solid three days to make and I don't regret a second.
A more recent thing is that I am doing Camp NaNoWriMo and I'm working on my original story! A book! I think it's going to be a duology, so far. 🥺I'm only about 4k words in but I have a solid outline and I'm really looking forward to finishing it because I have a lot of questions and there are just a lot of opportunities to explore different time periods and characters and creatures in it 👀
