Ok. So pardon my dorky squeals of glee and mini soap box moment. @greenspanetwork is hands down my favorite green community for so many reasons. Besides the fantastic people I meet through them, this is a group of people who are really about the work of greening spa and increasing awareness about important sustainability issues: From product formulations to regulatory concerns to legislation considered in Congress to environmental issues and social concerns. I have sat on their personal care committee for a few years now. One of the things I love so much is how much love, care, attention, consideration, thought, research, and actual science goes into the GSN information that is disseminated. You're not going to find a more solid organization when it comes to creating and educating about sustainability within the spa industry. To quote another fave, @maya.angelou, "when you know better, you do better." One of the responsibilities of the Personal Care Committee is to create information about quality sustainability practices in spa, proper regulatory practices, sustainable products, and clean ingredients. We address the controversies and therefore offer you the ability to appreciate the nuance of these myriad points of decision making. To me, that's empowerment and what it's all about. Here you can see one of the @greenspanetwork product infographics and cutie-patootie ingredient guides that will help you steer clear of icky greenwashing. Membership in @greenspanetwork is free and offers you all kinds of tools created by GSN's various committees to help you make better decisions for your spa, salon, or aesthetics practice. If you're an #esthetician or #spa or #spadirector or #estheticsstudent I can't recommend your joining more highly. With all this said, I need to give a big juicy shout out to Lisa Sykes from @universalcos and @ronaberg at @organicspamag two goddesses of sustainability, beauty, and spa who I humbly and gratefully call my co-chairs.
