Some illustration I did 2 years ago for the game SpaceRun Galaxy.

ADAPTED CHARACTERS: characters au'd to fit spacerun verse

Pegasus: AI in ship computer. Downloaded from network and routed through spacecraft ‘Sunsets and Existential Crises’ to collect information on fugitive Dorian Bloom; taken captive by said fugitive. Ends up in someone's tablet after being splinched in a Jump Gate. (a. vanwyngarden fc)

Sakura Ikeda: Manager of a restaurant in a busy spaceport. Pale blue tint to skin, blue blood, four arms -- one tentacle-like prehensile appendage sprouting from each elbow. (r. kikuchi fc)

Dorian Bloom: Boy genius gone blind and bribed into rebel military with the promise of bionic eyes. After eight years of training his only friend disappears, and Dorian escapes the barracks to find him. Owns spacecraft ‘Sunsets and Existential Crises’ and wiped Pegasus’ memory to prevent the spread of information, while using his presence in the ship’s system as a lure. (a. butterfield fc)

Gwenna Hart: Owns a repair shop in port Spire, where she uses her mental manipulation of metal to mend and create various pieces of equipment. A former child star, now mother of a fifteen year-old daughter. Supplies Dorian with a Capture Unit, which is used to fool his pursuers. (b. piper fc) 

Tov (& Dhatri): A vicious alien with the ability to ‘flicker’ in and out of tangibility and occupy the bodies of weaker creatures (eg. humans). Sent after Dorian. Dhatri is his companion, and no doubt the more sensitive and controlled of the two. (a. jogia, d. sunjata)

Selina Taylor: Operator of a Jump Gate at a port. A Savannan, a member of a widespread and increasingly rare race of aliens who read (and feed on) the emotions of others, present in ‘auras’ about their shoulders. Every time she walks into a room, people's auras tend to turn red. (h. steinfield)

Jem: Not included in the original AU With Everyone in it, but Jem is one of the modified humans created from DNA collected from alien abduction instances on earth. The aliens were experimenting with whether the human race could be cloned and copied, memories and all, so that their population could be effectively ‘transferred’ elsewhere, as long ago said aliens had ‘bought’ planet earth as a Petri dish. Unable, they turned their attention to creating agents to go to human colonies and observe. Young Jem was adopted by two parents and proceeded to be perplexed by the concept of gender. At 22 standard years, ey is now leading the field-medic branch of a law-enforcement force. (t. sangster)

SPACERUN ‘NATIVE’ CHARACTERS: characters created into the universe

Dez: Part of the same program as Jem, but ey has never known eir batch-mate. Ey lived most of eir life amongst the folk who created em, and was later in life sent to Mina's Hope colony (where Dorian lived), where ey had trouble fitting in due to the vast cultural and social differences. Ey has since gone rogue after discovering a teleportation device similar to a Jump Gate underground, and now travels across planets and colonies as ey pleases. (e. kendrick)

GLOSSARY:  

Jump Gate: essentially a teleportation device. Legal, but generally used by fairly dodgy people. Triangular, and a currency card must be presented before using the gate, or you will be 'splinched' -- whatever that means.

Capture Unit: a small, y-shaped machine used to store spacecraft AIs outside the craft's computer network. AIs can be used to track spacecraft. By placing AI Pegasus into a capture unit on port Spire while his craft was still flying, Dorian was able to throw Tov & Dhatri off course.

Beacon: at one point, Sunsets and Existential Crises was converted to a beacon. This is a place where AIs are dispensed, and also as a 'checkpoint' for AIs in transit. AIs can be downloaded from a beacon (eg. Peg is originally from Beacon Equinox), or they can pass through one on their way to a recipient craft (a craft that has downloaded an AI from the network)

Port Spire: A port hanging around planet Nore's single moon. It is home to many restaurants, shopping centres, etc. One of the largest ports in the sector. A stopping spot for craft in transit, as well as holding a set of Jump Gates. 

Colonies: Mina's Hope: a densely populated colony sprawling out across an expanse of the now terraformed planet VQ-209, jagged towers and neon lights spearing up into swirling grey cloud and cutting through cave and rock.   Cybele's Pride: a military colony. Not much is known about it, but the AI Capture Unit technology originated there. & More...
