#SpaceX ... #MAINGOAL #HUMANSONMARS | SpaceX’s #HugeNewRocket will tower nearly 350 feet (106 meters) tall and span 30 feet (9 meters) in diameter, according to information presented by company founder #ElonMusk. The huge vehicle’s design is still in the early stages, and SpaceX 's #RevampedDesign of its #MegaLauncher during 2016 and 2017, ending up with a smaller rocket than Musk originally envisioned. But the BFR, #Dwarfs all #Rockets currently flying in dimension and capability, and would measure roughly the same size as #NASA’s #SaturnVMoonRocket, while producing nearly twice as much thrust at liftoff as the #ApolloEra launcher developed in the 1960s. A booster stage, powered by 31 #MethaneFueled #RaptorEngines will produce nearly 12 million pounds of thrust and be capable of returning to Earth for #PropulsiveVerticalLandings like SpaceX’s existing Falcon rockets. An upper stage that doubles as an #InterplanetaryTransporter will carry #People, #Supplies, #Satellites, and huge propellant tanks that can be refilled in #Space. The BFR design combines several elements that, according to #Musk, will make long-duration, #BeyondEarthOrbit (BEO) #Spaceflights possible. They will reduce the per-ton cost of launches to #LowEarthOrbit (LEO) and of transportation between BEO destinations. They will also serve all usage for the conventional LEO market. This will allow SpaceX to focus the majority of their development resources on the next-generation launch vehicle. The fully reusable super-heavy-lift BFR will consist of a: * "BFR booster": a reusable booster stage. a reusable, integrated second-stage-with-spaceship, which will be built in at least three versions: * "BFR spaceship": a large, long-duration spaceship capable of carrying passengers or cargo to interplanetary destinations, to LEO, or between destinations on Earth. * "BFR tanker": an Earth-orbit, cargo-only propellant tanker to support the refilling of propellants in orbit. The tanker will enable launching a large spacecraft to interplanetary space as the spacecraft can use its tanks twice, first to reach LEO and afterwards to leave Earth orbit.

Brokers say that neither Virgin Galactic nor Mr. Branson appears to have purchased coverage should the British business mogul be hurt, or worse. (The craft is likely covered.) The same goes for Mr. Bezos and his company Blue Origin. Virgin, Mr. Branson and Blue Origin declined or did not respond to requests for comment. “We have talked to those companies about insurance and regulatory issues a…
