despite a having translator some words or phrases come across wrong, leading to an embarrassing series of events that ends with the human and the alien on an (accidental) date

sharing clothes with such different anatomy gets interesting

showing each other respective cultural customs goes wrong when the same practice means wildly different things, leading to heated discussions over who is correct

realising the wildly differing age expectancies, meaning one will outlive the other by a lot

trying to learn the other’s customs for courting through their pop culture and getting wildly inaccurate ideas about how all that works

despite relatively different nutritional needs, finding the one thing their diets overlap in and eating that as often as possible from now on

showing up for dinner at their parents’ house

alien picking up on things about the human the human doesnt even register since they are physiologically incapable of doing so (scent of pheromones, seeing the human stripes, etc.)
