So Iām related to a space Amazon and a cyborg cowboy?!
The titans of business, like the massive Trade Federation, funneled vast amounts of their limitless capital into spreading the word of their essential services to the galaxy. They attempted to foster goodwill and influence in the Republic to detract from their legally questionable practices in the less patrolled regions of the galaxy. Their propaganda was part of a vast brand-building effort to ensure a steady flow of profits reaped on the backs of the unfortunate.Ā

This is soo on the nose and I love it <3
Itās comforting to see that space amazon/apple/google is just as corrupt and amoral as the big companies of our world.
I guess 11 didn't have Kerblam Prime
Thereās a bizarre branch of Homestuck fandom that treats Homestuck characters as real, documented people, and Homestuck as some kind of tabloid unfairly maligning them, or a docudrama that took vulgar liberties with the historical record.
I never know what to say to these people. I am absolutely down for discussing bad character consistency in media - did you read my post about The Doctor shilling for Space Amazon? I plan on dying mad about that one, spitefully wrothful to my last breath - but thereās poor characterization and then thereās acting like Homestuck is committing libel and the only thing preventing you from bringing a lawsuit is that youāre a Tumblr user and, statistically speaking, canāt afford bus fare much less a lawyer.

PANDORA
Pandora were a four-piece glam/hard rock outfit from New York City. In 1974, the group traveled to Cleveland and recorded a demo. That session was released on the Space Amazon CD in 1997, yet the identities of the band members were completely mysteriousāand continued to beāuntil now.
The members of Pandora were:
Frank LaRocka, drums (David Johansen, Scandal, Bryan Adams) Martin Butler, guitar (The Demons, The Very Few) John āBuzzyā Verno, bass (Cherry Vanilla, David Johansen) Rick Prince, vocals (Plum Nelly, Black Widow, Twisted Sister)
Pandoraās mind-blowing mix of the New York Dolls, David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Led Zeppelin and KISS, complete with over-the-top vocals and out-of-this-world lyrics, is so unforgettable it seems unthinkable it would take so long for the group to be identified.
Here's "Hot Rocker" from the Space Amazon CD:
UPDATE ā DECEMBER 2016: The new issue of Ugly Things contains Doug Sheppardās excellent article on Pandora. Doug discovered their long-forgotten demo in 1992, which led to the release of Space Amazon, and in 2014 we worked together to identify the band. He talked to guitarist Martin Butler and I interviewed singer Rick Prince for the piece. Order a copy of the magazine here.
UPDATE ā APRIL 2021: Space Amazon is about to be reissued on vinyl for the first time. Pre-order yours via Bandcamp.
