The Generous Person Shall Be Enriched
The Generous Person Shall Be Enriched Generosity is a virtue that is often lauded and admired in our society. We are frequently encouraged to donate to charity or to causes we believe in. However, the motivation behind our giving is just as important as the act of giving itself. In 2 Corinthians 9:7, we are given a clear directive on approaching our giving. 2 Corinthians 9:7 AMPC â Let each oneâŠ

[ad_1]
She has spoken to journalists around the world about the page of history she will write when she became the first woman and first gay man to coach in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
âIâm waiting for someone to tell me itâs a joke and that,â surprise, youâre not really going to be there, youâre not really a football coach â. Itâs the kind of event where you look around to enjoy each day. â

Davina Sowers swaps 'Sugar Drops' for wholesome loving and living
Davina Sowers swaps âSugar Dropsâ for wholesome loving and living
âWeâve all loved the wrong person,â Sowers says. âWe all love the wrong food sometimes. We all love the wrong chemical. Thereâs something that weâre all yearning for.â
Sowers pays homage to two completely different kinds of partner on this album: a narcissistic, manipulative ex (âMr. Big Talkerâ) and her innocent, angelic husband (âMagic Kissesâ). Other songs examine themes like temptationâŠ

Saturday: Preparation for the Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Revised Common Lectionary Proper 12 Roman Catholic Proper 17
Complementary Hebrew Scripture from the Former Prophets: 2 Kings 4:38-41
When Elisha returned to Gilgal, there was a famine in the land. As the company of prophets was sitting before him, he said to his servant, âPut the large pot on, and make some stew for the company of prophets.â One of them went out into the field to gather herbs; he found a wild vine and gathered from it a lapful of wild gourds, and came and cut them up into the pot of stew, not knowing what they were. They served some for the men to eat. But while they were eating the stew, they cried out, âO man of God, there is death in the pot!â They could not eat it. He said, âThen bring some flour.â He threw it into the pot, and said, âServe the people and let them eat.â And there was nothing harmful in the pot.
Semi-continuous Hebrew Scripture from the Former Prophets: 2 Samuel 10:13-19
So Joab and the people who were with him moved forward into battle against the Arameans; and they fled before him. When the Ammonites saw that the Arameans fled, they likewise fled before Abishai, and entered the city. Then Joab returned from fighting against the Ammonites, and came to Jerusalem.
But when the Arameans saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they gathered themselves together. Hadadezer sent and brought out the Arameans who were beyond the Euphrates; and they came to Helam, with Shobach the commander of the army of Hadadezer at their head. When it was told David, he gathered all Israel together, and crossed the Jordan, and came to Helam. The Arameans arrayed themselves against David and fought with him. The Arameans fled before Israel; and David killed of the Arameans seven hundred chariot teams, and forty thousand horsemen, and wounded Shobach the commander of their army, so that he died there. When all the kings who were servants of Hadadezer saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they made peace with Israel, and became subject to them. So the Arameans were afraid to help the Ammonites any more.Âč
ÂčThere is a parallel passage at 1 Chronicles 19:14-19
Complementary Psalm 145:10-18
All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord, âand all your faithful shall bless you. They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom, âand tell of your power, to make known to all people your mighty deeds, âand the glorious splendor of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, âand your dominion endures throughout all generations.
The Lord is faithful in all his words, âand gracious in all his deeds. The Lord upholds all who are falling, âand raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to you, âand you give them their food in due season. You open your hand, âsatisfying the desire of every living thing. The Lord is just in all his ways, âand kind in all his doings. The Lord is near to all who call on him, âto all who call on him in truth.
Semi-continuous Psalm 14
Fools say in their hearts, âThere is no God.â âThey are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; âthere is no one who does good.Âč
The Lord looks down from heaven on humankind âto see if there are any who are wise, âwho seek after God.
They have all gone astray, they are all alike perverse; âthere is no one who does good, âno, not one.
Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers âwho eat up my people as they eat bread, âand do not call upon the Lord?
There they shall be in great terror, âfor God is with the company of the righteous. You would confound the plans of the poor, âbut the Lord is their refuge.
O that deliverance for Israel would come from Zion! âWhen the Lord restores the fortunes of his people, âJacob will rejoice; Israel will be glad.
ÂčThe first stanza is quoted in Romans 3:10-12.
New Testament Gospel Lesson: John 4:31-38
Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, âRabbi, eat something.â But he said to them, âI have food to eat that you do not know about.â So the disciples said to one another, âSurely no one has brought him something to eat?â Jesus said to them, âMy food is to do the will of him who sent me and to complete his work. Do you not say, âFour months more, then comes the harvestâ? But I tell you, look around you, and see how the fields are ripe for harvesting. The reaper is already receiving wages and is gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together. For here the saying holds true, âOne sows and another reaps.â I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.â
