They might be called clerics of materialism--peculiar in some cases, taking on forms of esoteric insights, as was the case with Vernadsky. Esoteric Marxists. They were obsessed with a new man in a new world, a transformed man in a transformed world, a Communist in the Red paradise. Apostles, angels of the future, aflame with exterminating ideas.
