An older sketch that I came across while cleaning my Yarn Cave this month. Orbital Redux was an 8-episode show, each ep filmed live in one take. Such a cool concept and the cast was excellent.
Loved this scene from episode 7 with Yuri Lowenthal as Max and Yasmine Al-Bustami as Tommie <3
The Tsiolkovsky rocket equation, also known as the ideal rocket equation, describes how the velocity of a rocket changes based on its mass and the velocity of the exhaust gases it expels. It is fundamental in understanding rocket propulsion and is expressed as Δv = ve ln(m0/mf), where Δv is the change in velocity, ve is the effective exhaust velocity, m0 is the initial mass, and mf is the final mass of the rocket.
Konstantin Tsiolkovsky - To the Moon (USSR, 1933)
artist: unknown (if you own this book DM me)
i've been playing a fair bit of Mars Horizon recently, and of course, i've only been playing as the Soviets LOL i was able to land on the Moon by early 1968, and from there, i dominated outer & inner solar system exploration, and got human boots on Mars by 2012. i decided to make some art to commemorate the several Neptune flybys i did with a painting of the Tsiolkovsky II probe entering orbit around Neptune, and detaching an atmospheric probe to gather even more info. also, the text on the probe's boom stands for Global Union of Socialist States, since i refuse to believe that if the USA got beaten so badly in the space race the USSR would've still fallen LOL so, yes. soviet neptune orbiter.

Tsiolkovsky’s rocket equation
LaTeX code: \Delta v = v_e \ln \frac{m_0}{m_f}
∆v, delta-V, the change in velocity; ve, exhaust velocity; ln, natural logarithm; m₀, starting mass of the rocket including fuel; mf, final mass of the rocket less the fuel used.
