Out working in the shop this morning, trying to put all them carbs and calories from yesterday to good use. I can hear my neighbor, which is a good 1/8th of a mile away, planing down some lumber with his portable planer. I know exactly what he is doing, the sound is unmistakable. However, he has no clue I've been working since 7:30 this morning planing and scraping the top of this table and putting chamfers on all four edges top and bottom. I really appreciate the fact I can use my hand tools and not have to hear the roar of machines all the time. Plus, look at those curly shavings from that Stanley No. 151 spoke shave! Did a little experimenting tonight and decided to try making a shallow tray on the radial arm saw. After some trial and error I settled on this iteration. It's kinda simple, but I think thats why I like it. Its made with one tool, the radial arm saw, out of some scrap heart pine. I did a quick finish with some orange oil and bees wax. Works perfect for a vanity tray, man tray, junk tray, change tray, whatever you want to call it.
