The Vestal Motel opened in 1953, and boasted a fabulous 50-foot pool, an attraction in this Southern Tier town of Vestal, New York. In 1973, a couple could buy a “pool club” membership for a cool $75. That was all so long ago. The Vestal was recently demolished, the pool a memory, but this gorgeous #midcentury sign, a vestigial remnant of the Vestal, towers over the vegetation that seems determined to consume it. The pointed part of the sign has been flipped — it conceals a swank painting of a diving lady, a hidden reminder of the Vestal's heyday. #retrologist #southerntier #iloveny (at Vestal, New York)

I’m moving down to Binghamton for grad school in a week and I’ve heard the area is incredible in the fall!
