under the cut you can find a few song-based connection ideas !  i was coming up with a few to send to the main and couldn’t narrow them all down, so i’ve compiled them all here. these are simply jumping off points, of course, and we can change whatever we’d like !  all of them are open to any gender and ( within reason ) any age. this may be added to later if i come up with any more.

( note --- while i’m pretty sure that into the sunset, kamikaze, talk, despicable, and love songs drug songs are all about romantic relationships, the connection can absolutely be platonic ! )

kira grew up in a suburb of dc in a middle-class family. and, while it was never quite an all-american white-picket fence situation, it wasn’t that far off. 

her older brother was popular throughout school and her parents, while not quite swimming in money, never really wanted for too much. 

it was just her that didn’t fit in. 

(at least, that’s the way it sometimes seemed.)

from the beginning, she had always, somehow, made her way to the sidelines. it wasn’t for lack of effort- she was on the softball team, did okay in classes, but she sat on the bench most games and her teachers always managed to forget her name. 

it made sense. to the world, she could be quiet at times, reserved. but beneath the surface bubbled someone who was incredibly passionate and excitable. and her silence was never- unintended. she was simply content to stay on the sidelines and watch other people’s lives go by.

---- because from the start, she knew that she always wanted to create things and tell stories. tell other people’s stories.

but when she went to film school, something changed. 

maybe it was just being out of the town that she didn’t care much for or maybe it was finally being out of her brother’s shadow or the fact that she didn’t fight with her parents as much. or maybe it was just that she was old enough to really find herself. while her dreams didn’t change, she knew she wanted to take a more active part in them. she wanted to start living a life she loved. she no longer wanted to sit in the background. she blossomed. started speaking up. in her time between classes, she started adventuring.

she's 22 now and she’s been graduated a year. and it’s weird. 

she's working for an indie company as a production assistant, and, though the atmosphere is everything she has ever wanted and the job puts her closer to her goal of making her own films than she’s ever been, she’s not satisfied just yet

she spends every waking moment of her life trying to make 'art'. she uses her camera to film constantly, essentially--- just recording everything she does for her personal video diary (don’t call it a vlog). she's not invisible anymore and she doesn't want to be, but there's always going to be a part of her that feels most comfortable looking life through a lens. she’s always going to feel a little bit like an outsider. 

tldr; she's a good kid! easily excitable! a good and trustworthy friend (a little... quick to judge ppl), maybe naive a little, incredibly curious, careless, adventurous, ambitious. a good neighbor! but she is always filming random ppl for an art project no one has ever seen and shows up late at night coming home from like... movies being shown at that theatre that no one goes to bc like there's creepy vibes (.... every town has one). she’s artsy to the point of being pretentious. if you let her, she’ll drag you along to the strangest places, she’ll try and show you the weirdest things.  but sometimes you look at her surrounded by what she calls ‘art’ and how happy she is and you can’t help but smile.

one of my most wanted connections is an ex who she dated around 2 years ago and who she has remained friends with.

(???) so i asked to borrow a cup of sugar once and things happened and at the end of the night you left your shirt here and i didn’t even get a cup of sugar. 

(???)  yes, two years ago, i accidentally told my grandma the wrong address and she keeps sending me mail there even though i swear i’ve told her it was wrong. but like. give me my birthday cards and packages and we can share the cookies she sends me. 

but like has kira really told? her grandma? or is it just that she likes spending time with u. and she wants the excuse to share cookies. 

friendly adventurers 

go with her to see her favorite movies, or go to the gay clerbs, or those weird art exhibitions that some street artist has put up

her art taste is like- the kind of art that is just an all white room and yoko ono screaming into a microphone in the center of it and all ppl are like wtf and kira’s like gleefully smiling and whispering “revolutionary”

she frequents some dope places in baltimore though. she loves this city with all her heart.

look im just saying she goes all out for honfest any anything regarding the hons (the women who like hairspray is based off of bc they wear beehives all the time)

 aka she sticks a camera in your face a lot and asks you questions about how you’re doing and you’re a little confused and you want her to stop or you’re like confused but ok or you’re like... something else entirely idk up to you

petty enemies

this one is so good okay. but u got to be down to make this the stupidest fight ever. it starts with one of them taking the other’s laundry by accident and it’s spiraled into them death glaring every time they see each other. also do they Still have kira’s favorite jacket? they can deny all they want but it was In That Load and now It’s Gone]

how like their actual relationship is or whatever is up in the air but like. i want. pettiness. and i want to brainstorm some pettiness. 

HONESTLY I WANT SOME REALLY GOOD APARTMENT SITUATIONAL PLOTS. 

I was sticking my head out the window and you were draining water onto the pavement. Dude I see you. My god. We all have sinks. 

We do our laundry at the same time every week and we chat then and its super weird bc like. we  never talk elsewhere. we’re laundry buddies only. but, i mean, u do seem super interesting.

I know you keep ur door unlocked and so like. we’re friends. you won’t mind if I just pop in to use ur dish soap. i like ran out.
