Fin or Bin: Soundodger+
The dice gave me a string of rhythm games in a row during my unscheduled time off from Tumblr. Funny how that works out sometimes. Between Klang Two, Melody’s Escape, and now Soundodger, it is Soundodger that kept me coming back the most.
I mean gosh, just look at it. It’s like the child of Super Hexagon and Touhou, of course I’m into it. Circular bastards around the edge of the arena spew projectiles in time with the music Sound, and you must Dodge them. It’s very minimalist with no twists or surprises; take a hit and the song distorts for a moment, and any projectiles that leave the arena during this distortion no longer count towards your score.
More importantly for me, there is an actual progression involved, with new songs being unlocked by your total cumulative score across all the songs you have played. That means there's a reason to go back and redo a level when you completely beef it other than chasing a high score, and a reason to play that one song that you really just don't like at all.
Speaking of, the music is a little hit or miss. That's entirely subjective of course- no one is going to like every song- but the inclusion of some mellow vocal tracks is odd to me. The thumpy high-tempo numbers fare a lot better in my opinion, but it's varied enough that you'll find something to bop to.
Fin or Bin:
Having mentioned Super Hexagon- I have to tell you there is a track from SuperHex's musician Chipzel in the User Levels, included as part of the (free?) DLC, and it is BY FAR the best level in the entire game. The stage itself even references the secret ending of Super Hexagon! Chipzel simply doesn't miss, and I recommend Soundodger based on that track alone. Fin!

I've been sitting on this for like a year at this point, unable to finish the rest of the level, so uh have at it lol
Maybe ill publish it in full one day but definitely not anytime soon, I don't wanna repeat
if you liked that one music bullet hell you should absolutely grab the other two music bullet hells
Recently got a new drawing tablet and ive been testing it addi g to my now ever-growing soundodger gajinkas and other character-things
The one on the left is a gajinka of the last level and also the cursor!
The one on the right is a cursor-sona or something because apparently that is a thing people made (albiet as a joke) but ehh, they’re canon now
They have a specific power up called “masquerade” that makes all homing bullets and bullets aimed at the player completely ignore the cursor for 15 seconds or so
