“Lily. Babe…” Nora’s lip curled, “this is the absolute worst pair of pants I have ever seen and I’ve been in your closet before.”

“We had a deal, Taaco. You make an outfit using one item of clothing of my choice.”

“You should never have won that bet, Bluejeans. Once I figure out how you cheated, it’s game over.”

Lily gasped and fell back onto the bed with her wrist to her forehead, “You wound me! I thought we were friends! We’re cousins! Practically sisters!”

Nora rolled her eyes, hiding her smile by turning around, “Fuck, Lil, you’re laying that on thick.” She picked up the pants. They were thick corduroy, fern green and soft to the touch, “Honestly, I can probably make this work with the right sweater.”

“You can’t steal anything from your dad.”

“Fuck that, that wasn’t part of the agreement!” Nora laughed, “I wasn’t gonna use any of his clothes, but now I have to!” She held the pants up to herself, “Maybe his big copper scarf with the enchanted leaf embroidery. Or maybe that gold cloak with the vines over an ivory peasant shirt…”

Lily groaned, “I love you, Nora. Go home now.”
