#10: Sorrelmoon
(this is the last one. sorry for blowing up people's dashes)
-Universe: A Cult of Stars (personal Warriors AU) -Role: Secondary/supporting -Status: Alive -Build: Small, slender, petite -Orientation: Uncertain Sorrelkit's parents were Brackenflight and Frostfoot, who had been born in ThunderClan but who left for reasons Sorrelmoon would never discover. She was born alongside her siblings Goldenkit, Rainkit, Rushkit and Blackkit (later Goldenfrost, Rainstorm, Rushheart and Blackrun). When Silverkit was found washed up and nearly dead by the river bank, Sorrelkit was one of the most insistent that she be taken in, and the two went on to be extremely close and spend almost all their time together. Brackenflight and Frostfoot were later killed in a skirmish with rogues, and the six kits - then nearly 6 moons old - had no choice but to flee for the forest. ThunderClan territory. When they were taken in, Sorrelkit immediately was drawn to the life of a medicine cat, and trained tirelessly under Dusksage to become his successor. From the beginning she was self-conscious about her status as an outsider, even though her parents had been born in ThunderClan, and strived for a close relationship with StarClan. She was discouraged when they didn't speak with her, and even with Dusksage's gentle advice that sometimes the way they showed themselves was subtle, she was desperate to know they were speaking to her. Eventually she started to lie, out of fear of being forced to be a warrior. When she still saw no signs and heard no voices, she started to double down on the warrior code and shutting others out. Silverspark in particular watched her become more hostile, more miserable, with no way to help. Sorrelmoon continued to devote her life to StarClan, burying her head in her work and isolating herself, severing her connection with Silverspark when she learned of her forbidden relationship with a ShadowClan cat and only partly making up once they were leader and medicine cat together. She eventually confided in Silverstar, but never fully made peace with her disconnect from StarClan, even when she trained her own apprentice and eventually retired. [About ACOS: A Cult of Stars is my personal Warriors-based AU. The clan system is almost entirely the same, and most parts of the lore line up with the canonical series, but with one important detail: StarClan is not real. The clans believe in StarClan, worship them, center their lives around them, but StarClan never actually existed. The reason they still believe with such conviction is because they trust their leaders and medicine cats, who claim to have seen them and spoken with them. Some spiritual leaders realize that StarClan is not real, and intentionally lie in order to take advantage of the power it grants them. Others believe that they are real, but that they have rejected them because they do not consider them worthy, and in this case they usually lie out of fear and shame. There have been a few who spoke up and said they had never been spoken to, and believed there was no StarClan at all, but those are seen as traitors and usually either forced into exile or killed.]
