So I’m going through and making video components for my favorite covers. Hopefully, most future covers will have a video with them. This is for the cover I just released yesterday!

Brief yandere warning here. This warning is short since this song is probably the lightest yandere song there is out there and probably the lightest yandere song that will ever be featured in this blog. There’s nothing explicit being described, and the UTAU I used here has nothing in their usage clause that forbids these kinds of works. If that stuff bothers you anyway, block the “yandere” tag on my blog. Anyway, onto commentary.
This, in my mind, is the perfect way to work themes like yandere in with class. The song sounds so cute and sweet, yet the themes are horrifying and creepy, but not so much so that the song has to be grotesque. On top of that, there’s a sweet EDM breakdown complete with a bass drop in the creepiest part in the song. I loved this song when I first heard it two weeks ago, and I knew that I had to make a cover of it. I actually had some reservations about even downloading Lua since I thought she sounded so much like Tei when I first heard samples of her voice, but doing this cover made me realize that that thought was very far from the truth. Lua actually sounds more like a mix of Tei and Mayu, retaining the clarity and crispness of Tei’s voice while also keeping the warmth of Mayu’s voice. Lua held well both in the calm and energetic parts of the song, and I was so impressed at how it turned out. In addition, mixing wasn’t all that bad even though the part with the 大好き spam was nightmarish to do. I hope what I did here is acceptable. Lua’s already lined up to appear in another cover that I’ve been working on, so expect to hear more of her in the future. Enjoy this cover, and watch your devices! You never know who might have accessed them last...
