#soooo irritating

FIRST customer I greeted yesterday took the FATTEST rip of his vape as he was walking in. Disgusting disrespectful and weird in any store, but, THIS IS A CHILDREN’S STORE.

not one but TWO people came in with collars and leashes that was not kemonomimi style, was very obviously kink related. Again, weird in any place. Not because the kink is weird, because wearing it in public to a non kink centered situation is odd, public can’t consent and all that. But I will say again, THIS IS A CHILDRENS STORE. Benefit of the doubt is you didn’t know this store would be there/didn’t know you were going in. TAKE IT OFF BEFORE YOU COME IN!

A HUGE part of my job is talking and relating to people. It’s in our standards to get to know something about every person who walks through that door. I cannot do that or help you if you won’t look up from your phone. What was supposed to be a fun activity with your partner was now lame and boring because we couldn’t talk. Of course you didn’t hear what I said, you’re nose deep in Instagram reels.

Full transparency, i make like $12 an hour and work 4-5 hour shifts once or twice a week. Not by choice at all this is just how it goes with this time of year and scheduling. Which is to say, I don’t make enough to babysit your kids AND do my job. How is there three adults in your group and IM the one making sure your kid doesn’t run away / press buttons she shouldn’t press. What!?!?!

And my final point. If you enter a store that is very obviously preparing to close, just to walk around for ten minutes after they close, and NOT BUY ANYTHING? Again, what I’m making out of the now extra half hour (ten minutes OVER my shift time!) I have to stay to finish closing is not worth it because you didn’t even buy anything.

All this to say. Just begging people to have some awareness. For kids, because even if you don’t like them, you do have to share your society with them. For the poor college kids working in the stores you walk into. For the other adults around you.
