You know Vanessa is just so utterly messed up, like even just the things we actually see in the movie without all the implications
she gets the toy of a dead kid, which probably wasn't the only time either
we know she is with the animatronics more often, probably bc of guilt and having to clean up
when she shot that gun she was too scared to even look and i dont think she was even surprised when her own father turned against her like it was nothing
before that she clearly implied some conditioning and manipulation from her dad when she said she wouldnt be of any use
this was probably not the first time she had to keep a security guard in check
and if the way afton talked to the animatronics was anything to go by, was so extremely abusive and manipulative
but she probably couldnt leave, she didnt have a support system and this was her dad afterall, he couldnt be that bad
he probably also had things to hold over her head, threaten her with
did vanessa ever get to make a free choice? did she want to be a police officer or was she forced to, and her name?
