Superman: Are you kidding me?  Superman is like, the greatest hero of them all!  What hero wouldn’t look up to him?  With all those powers, and his experience, and the number of times he’s laid everything on the line for his adopted world, you just have to admire that. I really can’t imagine anyone else leading the Justice League, either. I’ve never really spoken to him or anything, beyond “yes sir,” and just being in a group of other Titans at the time. Someone that high up in hero status, though, I really doubt he knows who I am. I heard Nightwing got all tongue-tied the first time he met him, when he was still Robin and quite young. I’m a grown woman and I’ll admit, I’d probably react the same way, even now.Clark Kent: That reporter from the alley?  I don’t read the DP, actually, so I can’t judge him from his writing, but he’s a bit idealistic, if you ask me. He’s really very nice and generous, though, I must admit. Maybe he has a deathwish, I don’t know, but he doesn’t seem to have much sense of personal safety either, especially considering he says he’s seen action himself. I’m usually glass-is-half-full myself, but he seems more the type to say “Fill it to overflowing and give everyone in the world a straw!” I haven’t quite decided if that’s admirable, or naive, or both.

I’m jealous though, deep down, and a little bitter. Not over his powers or anything, it’s more personal than that. I’m jealous because Clark got Lex, and he didn’t even care. It just seems a little unfair you know? I can’t let it go.” 

“Superman’s out of date. All of the ‘heroes’ are. They can’t keep people safe anymore. They try, and I get that, really I do, but it’s not enough. It’s never been enough. I finally get that now. Letting the bad guys get away just makes more people get hurt in the end. He means well, but that’s not enough. He’s too damn nice, and you don’t save the world with ‘nice’.”

Five For Fighting - Superman   

"He’s a hero, and he has my respect even if we don’t always see eye-to-eye. Clark takes too much on himself, seems to think that because he’s supposedly invincible he should be able to do everything himself. I can understand solo acts, I’m not a huge team player myself, but when you have a team ready and willing to back you up? The Big Guy just needs to relax a little. The world won’t collapse if he takes a sick day."

Cass stared down at the book resting in her hands. The rows of ink on off-white pages meant something, she knew they did -- and she could read little bits here and there. Babs had always told her to try to determine the context of the writing by what she could deciper, to fill in the blanks with inference. But a trick like that only went so far when she could only manage a third of a page on her own.Finally, the letters on the page had taunted her enough, and with a small dissatisfied noise she held out the book to Clark. "I can't follow it." she conceded. Was admitting defeat in front of Superman supposed to be more embarassing than it was in front of someone a little less... accomplished? "Can you tell me... What it says?"
