Hope your enjoying this hallows eve for today I’m going with The first black directed, written & starting horror 1940’s Son Of Ingagi as a bonus I’m doing the first horror to represent black minorities properly & I’ll be adding the horror that started the new black horror wave🎃🎃💖. Son Of Ingagi starts with the wedding of Mr & Ms Lindsey & female scientist Dr. Jackson & her recent discovery of a missing link in Africa, where in Africa you ask? Oh you know just the whole continent, as usual😂. The film still has charm and humour to it for its time and watching it now with today’s standard, gives it even more humour to it. Plus an appreciation for those that came before us and the work they put in that has elevated us to where we are now. While the movie monster may make some people say does that look like?🤨, It is an all black project and is a classic in black horror cinema and has the first representations in horror where we aren’t a joke, a monster or played by a white person.
