The air was thick with discontent for a young artist in Philadelphia, PA. Â A, once, purposeful path to musical entertainment seemed to be muddled by the shores of the Delaware River. The harmony of hopes and dreams were now drowned out by the dissonance of societal accordance a.k.a. the day job.
But, then a phone call rang like the Hallelujah Chorus bringing âThe Good Newsâ from New York City.
âThereâs an audition for Kelly Rowland here tomorrow,â was the proclamation from a friend on the other end.
Consumed by the confines of her 9 to 5, she initially protested the imposition of such a rash decision. But, the promise of possibility dominated responsibility. By morning she was on her way to NYC.
Less than two weeks passed between that rigorous audition day and the phone call from Joe Wilson, Kelly Rowlandâs Musical Director. His praise of her performance was followed by the anxiety-inducing, âButâŠâ
She wasnât going to be singing background for Kelly Rowland, after all. He had something else in mind.
Just 48 hours and 1 full day of rehearsal later, GoGo Morrow found herself singing and dancing alongside Lady Gaga on The Monster Ball World Tour. First stop: The Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA.
And, to think, she almost went to Drexel Law SchoolâŠ
âYour life is going to change from this point on,â was Joe Wilsonâs declaration. His words couldnât have been more prophetic.
GoGo Morrow has a voice, seemingly, as sweet as her personality. But, be warned, this beautiful contradiction is an assassin on the stage; not unlike the Kill Bill: Volume I movie character (GoGo Yubari) that inspired her persona.
With singing, writing, and dancing in her arsenal you may not have seen her coming. Yet, here she is. And sheâs holding audiences captive with a sound all her own; an LA charged SOUNDBOMB, to be exact.
GoGo has opened for the likes of Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Fabolous, and Kendrick Lamar; she was most recently featured alongside, R&B Divas LA star, Lilâ Mo in the R&B Spotlight Showcase at SOBâs NYC; and has even sold out her very first headlined Live Nation show at the infamous Theater of the Living Arts in Philadelphia; all of this just 3 years removed from the phone call that sparked it all. Yet, she still finds great reverence in the 2 years she spent touring with Lady Gaga.
Gagaâs commitment to leaving everything on every stage was a living testament to her love for her fans. This made an imprint on GoGoâs own artistry. The commitment she makes to produce a spectacular show, no matter the stage or the circumstance, is not only an ode to her fans, but to her beloved SOUNDBOMB team who tirelessly support her vision.
âI want my story to be motivation for people to go out and just do it.â
Whatever âitâ is, GoGo hopes that her music will incite the courage to pursue. She maintains a vision for greatness thatâs immeasurable by fame and fortune but, more so, by the masses sheâs able to inspire through her own expression.
The fruits of her aspiration including 3 official single releases from her highly anticipated album (to be released this winter), live performance video, and a catalogue of the YouTube cover tunes that greatly contributed to her musical notoriety can all be found at www.gogomorrow.com.
With a will for greatness, a heart to inspire, and music that sings the like, it would be wise to keep your eyes peeled. Thereâs an amazing artist at large and her name is GoGo Morrow.
âYea⊠I said GoGo.â
