ISLAND 001.
With reserves trickling in, it’s time to post the first island’s information.
You’ll find it under the cut. If you have any questions at all, send an ask here and we’ll get to it as soon as possible.
It’s called Olazan.
Olazan is home to wild weather and small villages; log cabins and bonfires line the streets in the wintry villages, with open-air markets and blistering heat in the summer ones.Â
As the magic poured out from wellsprings in the earth, the weather started getting harsher and harsher; there’s no rhyme or reason to how fast the climate can change from place to place --- in certain villages, at least.
There are a number of villages you can post yourself at; they’re generally very low in populace.
Altero: A winter place, full of snow. The people here clear the roads pretty well, and keep the bonfires burning, offering a place of respite for the natives and travelers alike. While they don’t have very many people here, there’s a sort of hospitality here. They might seem scared and wary at times, but they extend their kindness all the same.
Epion: A summer village, heat baking the paved roads and homes. The heat doesn’t really relent, but the people seem used to it; they’ve been living here for generations, after all. The hospitality is similar here, although the people are quicker to ... warm up to the visitors.
Pallin: The most populated area of them all, Pallin is a place between the other two villages that vacillates between the two in terms of climate, entirely unpredictable. Will it be snowy one day, or mild, or with heat comparable to Epion’s own? No one can tell, but the inhabitants pray for what they need. The Gods don’t seem to hear them, but they’re pious and faithful.
The people of Olazan work on a sort of barter system, typically trading lodgings and food in inns for work. Help clear some snow in Altero, or maybe tend to Epion’s farms. They also might just let it slide if you’re needy enough.
As well as these villages, you’re more than welcome to take to the wilderness, which may vary in climate as well. Tents and such can be provided at shops in either of the three villages, but you’ll need to work for a day or two for all the supplies you need.
Magic and any special abilities you have work just fine here, although the locals seem very impressed with your mastery of skill --- often to the point they might be distracting ...
As your time in Olazan wears on, you might pick up talk of their Gods ... And the whispers hush lower and lower as they speak of worship ... What could this mean ... ?
Any asking of the locals will be an exercise in frustration. Though they will have warmed up to you some, this is the one thing they seem to be unable to speak of ...

There will be a change in setting and plot in a month from 9.20.2019, but an optional event will be introduced in a couple weeks. This will be par the course for most of the island changes, but sometimes things will be shaken up a little!
Y’know, to keep you on your toes.
Have fun with it, and ask any questions if you need to.
