Little piece of music for @squaredev ās Comfy Jam entry. The end might seem to cut a little abruptly, but thatās because itās meant to loop.

Thank you! I forgot to put it in the tags, but I used SonarX3 for everything. I saw it on sale on steam a few years ago at like 75-80% off so I decided to grab it as well as some virtual instrument packs. It works well enough, but I hardly ever see anyone even mentioningĀ it, let alone recommending it (probably because itās Windows only). I donāt have enough experience using other DAW software to accurately judge if itās better or worse than the others, but for the discounted price I got, itās definitely worth it.
And a little bit of life story for the second question: when I started high school, I suddenlyĀ became interested in music. I started with tenor saxophone in the schoolās wind ensemble (one of the reasons why the anime Hibike! Euphonium hit really close to home). The next year, I started piano lessons, and the year after that I dusted off my motherās old guitar and started to learn it by myself (only campfire stuff, though, just chord strumming and singing). Iāve had a good 4 years where I was really dedicated to learning music.
After that, well... the dedication kinda dwindled and my skill hit a plateau. Thatās disappointing, but thatās kind of a life lesson too. Like, when I started playing the piano at around 14 years old, I was always disappointed that I did not start earlier.Ā āI couldāve been playing for years, I could be really good right now, but I didnāt start at the right timeā I would think. But thatās pretty stupid in hindsight, right? Because Iām a decade older now and have I used all this time efficiently? No, unfortunately. Back in high school, I was disappointed that I didnāt start a decade earlier, and now Iām disappointed that I had the decade I wantedĀ but did not use it well.
Thatās kind of why you always need to look ahead. Think of what you need to do to reach your goals. It doesnāt matter when you started. All that matters is if you are doing what you want right now, or if you are actively working towards it. Looking back, it seems to me like I just wanted to jump ahead and have the skill without working for it. Thatās not how it works. Ask for advice from any artist and theyāll always tell you to just practice. Thereās no secret solution, you canāt cheat your way in and get good without dedicating yourself. I still feel like my past self wasted time that I couldāve use to get better, but my current self saw the opportunity to compose music and grabbed it because itās both something that I wanted to do now and something that will help me grow in the future.
The last 2 paragraphs are more rambling to myself than anything, sorry. I guess I really like introspection.

On the subject of music, I kinda wanted to post this. This is a song I did a few years ago for some space game as a university project. I havenāt really had the time to compose anything since then, so I really look forward to start making music again for my current game!
This little loop wonāt be used in my game, tho. So if you want it as placeholder music for your demo, feel free to do it. Just ask me first so that I know where itās used and maybe put a little credit in the demo ;)

I used a vocoder for the fist time.
Thanks for your listening.
I hope next one will be a cool work.
Iād appreciate it if you reblog this.
I was making this by only the pianos. When I noticed, however, I had used some strings to finish it.
I would appreciate it if you could reblog this.
