Different sectors of society - from youth, women, LGBTQ+, workers, solidarity allies, and those within the United Front came together in NYC (to the Philippines to all over the world) to counter Duterte’s 3rd State of the Nation Address and expose the real state of the nation. . United on fighting the growing fascism and dictatorship of Duterte and his administration - the People exposed and opposed his various anti-people, anti-poor policies that continue to harm, devastate, murder, and exploit our kababayan back Home in the Philippines and abroad. From the TRAIN tax law, to Cha-Cha (or charter change), to Contractualization, to various U.S./China outsposts, to #BabaeAko to counter all his misogynistic and sexist jokes, to Martial Law in Mindanao and all the Human Rights Violations he and his administration committed, to the neglect of Overseas Foreign Workers (OFWs), to the delay and stopping of formal Peace Talks between the GRP (Government Republic of the Philippines) and NDFP (National Democratic Front of the Philippines) and neglecting addressing the root causes of poverty, socio-economic inequality in the Philippines, and armed conflict in the countryside. . From the Philippines to NYC to all over the world, the people must unite and fight against the crumbling imperialist/fascism of the ruling class. We can no longer hold back on organizing against the enemy as they continue to fearfully and desperately cling to their power over the People. As grassroots organizations we must continue to educate, organize, and mobilize the masses to fight for their genuine rights, freedom, and liberation against the system that continues to exploit them for their labor power and natural resources.
