Yeah by the end of the series she’s not so bad anymore, but she’s not a good mother either. And I still have a fundamental problem with the fact that the relationship was painted as some bleeding heart martyr adoptive mother who did nothing wrong to her child ever, having him be taken away unfairly (it was not unfairly she nearly killed him while trying to kill his biological mother) and how mean everyone was being to her and oh look the kid’s afraid of her there’s no reason for that (she told him she was going to kill everyone and kidnap him so they could be together.... do I even need to say more?) and oh look she did the one thing literally any parent, abusive or not, would do which is try to save their child after they’ve been fucking kidnapped and oh look she was supposed to lose him because of the undoing of her fucking crimes but she only loses him for a measly year (meanwhile he’s lost most of his childhood to this woman and her obsessive possessive abusive gaslighting and control, not to mention how he has to beg her not to kill his family more than once and beg her to do the right thing because apparently she can’t figure it out as an adult....) and then look everything’s fine! It doesn’t matter that she tries to bribe him into helping her find the author cause he’s happy to put his 13 year old life on hold to help her find happiness. I mean, it’s literally the only thing he does! Going so far as to work for his grandpa who only recently tried to murder him! No biggie. He didn’t even do it behind her back, she agreed to this because she’s that fucking selfish.

I just. I have such a fucking problem with how these issues haven’t been dealt with once and we’re all supposed to feel like it’s the purest mother/child relationship in the whole of the cinematic universe of all storytelling creation or something. And how this is a family show and children with emotionally and psychologically abusive parents probably watched this and were taught that everything they felt was wrong, and those parents were validated in their abusive behaviors and more people are going to just overlook childhood emotional and psychological abuse because ‘oh no one ever hit you or raped you as a child so you’re not traumatized’

I HATE THE MY FUCKING GM. 

There are people who disagree with the SQM and you know what? It's not an attack on the shippers. It is however a disagreement that SQ is the one and only queer relationship needed on the show, or the most important one.

So men shouldn't get equal screen time? Their stories shouldn't be explored? One minute people are complaining about the men being too centered around the women and the other they're complaining about them overshadowing the women. You are not making any sense. At all.

The whole point of equal representation is that it's equal. As in not more than the other. You know what? I'm happy the guys are getting some more screen time and story arcs. And honestly their arcs are centered around the women of the show. Jefferson is essentially a mother to his daughter, Charming is the subordinate to Snow when it really comes down to the wire, Hook is supportive of Emma, Robin is helping Regina as well as raising his own child on his own. These men are being placed into traditionally female positions in the show. The women, however, have arcs centered around their relationships with each other as well as with their own internal conflicts. 

This show is most definitely about female empowerment. Just because there are men there doesn't mean it's not true, or that these women have been lowered to a weaker role. This entire show is about the women in it, it's centered around them. And even the men in it are either centered around the women or placed into traditionally female roles. (Rumple, for example, has always acted like what is usually depicted as a desperate mother.)

We all have a right to our opinions and honestly, just because we don't all agree doesn't mean those opinions aren't valid or the reasons are covering up some hidden sexism or queerphobia. SQers who claim that people are against their documentary because they hate the shippers are doing the same thing people did to them. No one is helping anyone else. And honestly, I see that entire documentary as a bullying strategy to get the writers to make a ship they don't want happen on the show they run. These people have said over and over again that it's not happening. They've said it in every possible respectful way. And every time they are at a panel and someone asks about SQ as though it's need addressed, you can see every single actor and creator stiffen at the mention. Because what people are doing is hounding these people. They are bullying them and refusing to leave them alone because they are convinced they are being lied to, that the creators are just joking or trying to cover something up when they have no reason to do so.
