I've had this really sad headcanon about Kashuu and Yasusada for a while now. I always thought that the secret reason why Kashuu wasn't as warm towards Okita as Yasusada was was because while Okita was kind and gentle towards Yasusada, he was harsh towards Kashuu. This carried to the point of abuse, often sexual. But since they were children at the time, Kashuu didn't know who to go to or how to deal with it. So he got this mindset that he always had to be pretty to be loved after Okita left him
