Sometimes it Lasts Review
So hopefully you have read the first book of Cage and Eva, While it Lasts. If not, I suggest you do because Cage and Eva have a great love story.
That being said, I really think Abbi stepped it up for this book. The plot was perfect for these two, if she had made this the first book I think it would have been way too compacted and it wouldn't make as much sense. I think Abbi may love Cage a little more than other characters because you can really see these things unfolding while you read. You can really imagine the pain and love. I think that's probably why Cage is getting a movie!
This book is probably the best she has written for the Sea Breeze series. I always say that Abbi has this way into her readers hearts. She knows what they want and she gives it to them with a twist you weren't expecting but end up loving her for it. Even though you probably hated her at first for some of her twists, they are very memorable.
Eva has changed so much from the first book from being the shy, timid country girl. She begins to take a stance and doesn't want to change her mind. She stays strong until she finds out she may be wrong. Usually I would want to slap a girl who is as stubborn as she is, but you relate. If you were on her side of things you would probably do about 90% of what she did.
Have you ever read a book that literally made your heart hurt? Because that's what happened to me during the the last third of the book. I felt for both of them. Usually one character I agree with and the other I don't, but Abbi made me relate to why Eva did what she did and why Cage is fighting so hard. It's beautifully heart breaking. It's some of the best writing I have ever seen.
The plot keeps you interested, there weren't pages I wanted to skip. I wanted to know exactly how they were going to get through what they were going through. Separately and together. This book kept me intrigued. Usually I take a few days to read a book, maybe even a day. I bought this book at midnight and went to bed at three in the morning after I finished it. I kept trying to find a spot to put it down, but I couldn't.
For that reason I give it 5 stars.
