Edith Head designed this blue gown, accented with open vertical stitching, for Barbara Stanwyck to wear in the 1949 film 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒎𝒂 𝑱𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒂𝒏.   The piece was seen again a few years later in the 1952 film 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑭𝒐𝒓, where Teresa Wright wore it as Edna Miller.   The costume went up for auction at Bonhams in 2019. We are all unique in our own way. We laugh and cry, we get hurt and heal, we love and shine BUT we all have our storms. Our choice is to learn from life! I think we cant call life as a “mistake”. We can call it as a lesson and our choice is to learn from it - we make the same “mistake” many times or we don´t. Life is simple! We can choose what is good for us and what is not. We choose people who we spend time with, surroundings where we live, food we eat, steps we make and steps we take, we can choose to breathe slowly, to always be grateful and never stop loving life no matter what happens. Some people say that its easy for me to say this - im young student, still kind of living at my parents house, I am healthy and happy and nothing bad have ever happened to me. WRONG! I have my storms behind me. But you know, I chose to shine after all those storms I have been through. I choose to scream to the sky “thank you for the storms!" Because those storms made me who I am today - one really happy and grateful person! No, I am not perfect, I am still making mistakes, almost every day. Sometimes I dont even see it, sometimes I know that this thing what I am doing now is a total mistake but I STILL do it. Well, what the hell, then its another experience to learn from! But no matter what I do, I try to follow my heart, I always follow my heart because it knows. And sometimes it whispers "no, its not good for you!" and sometimes .. I dont want to listen to it but I understand that if I dont stop doing this I will loose myself and no matter how much my whole other body says "yes" I will say NO because I know what I want and this is not it!
