I need your advice... I got my LRAW score back and I did even worse than I did first semester (I had a C first semester, and now I have a D+). I asked my professor about it and he’s being such an asshole about it and he’d been treating me with hostility from the beginning of last semester. I’m not sure what to do. Especially since our LRAW grading isn’t anonymous and he clearly hates me. Should I go to my dean? Or am I being a baby about just fucking up in a class?
Everybody has at least one bad grade. Call this one yours.Â
It’s possible that, even though your prof is a dick, you weren’t meeting his grading rubric. If you can, take the assignments to another professor you like, and ask what they would have graded it at. If it’s similar, then just drop it. But if it’s dramatically different, you can consider appeal of the grade.Â
I would caution you though, that appeal of the grade often goes to the original professor who graded it. So unless your school operates differently, you might kind of be boned.Â
