Peter is falling asleep in Spanish. He had laid his head down on his hand and propped himself up to try to keep himself awake but he’s still falling asleep.

“Need… coffee…” Peter thinks to himself right as his eyes close again until the bell rings, waking him up with a start.

Peter finally reaches his locker, with Ned waiting right next to it.

“Dude! I think we could finally put together that death star tonight. You know the one we were going to put together yesterday but instead we talked about you and your … stark internship,” Ned says, looking around before talking about the “internship”.

“I don’t know man. I’m exhausted. I think I’m gonna grab some coffee on my way home and try to get through this pile of Algebra homework. And do my patrols later, like always. But if we don’t get it done before this weekend, we’ll do it Saturday.”

Ned isn’t too happy because he really wants to put together the death star with Peter, but he agrees anyway. The boys say their “goodbyes” and “talk to you later”s as they do every afternoon before they leave the school.

Peter enters the small coffee shop a few blocks from his house. It smells like coffee and sweets and is filled with people's chatter and the sounds of machines making the coffee orders.

“Next!”

Peter wasn’t paying attention, again.

“Next!”

He finally looks up, oh that’s me!

“Hi, I’m (Y/N). What can I get you today?”

“O-oh. Um, one large iced caramel macchiato please.”

“Okay, what’s the name on that?”

“Parker Pet- um, Peter Parker. Peter.” Peter was having a hard time talking straight to the beautiful girl in front of him.

“Okay Peter that’ll be $4.45. I’ll call you when it’s ready.”

Peter walks over the the area near the end of the counter to wait on his coffee.

In a few minutes, (Y/N) was calling Peter’s name to get his coffee, but again he wasn’t listening.

“Peter Parker,” (Y/N) calls again, standing right in front of the boy.

Peter finally pulls himself out of his thoughts and focuses on the pretty girl in front of him, “Oh, I’m sorry. Thanks, um,” Peter looks at her name tag, “(Y/N).”

“No problem, but it’s not gonna be like that every time you’re in here right?”

“Huh?”

“I have a feeling you’ll be back in here soon.”

Someone from behind the counter calls (Y/N) back to her position behind the counter and peter rushes out of the shop and towards home.

He’ll definitely be going there again.

Over the next week Peter stops in the shop at least once a day. Most times he orders coffee, always a large iced caramel macchiato. But other times he just sits at the stools at the end of the counter and talks to (Y/N) while she works, trying to flirt with her but usually getting tongue-tied in the process. On the busy days he orders his coffee and goes home, on the slow days they’ll sit there and talk for a few hours, until Peter had to go to do his patrols and homework.

Peter had found out she goes to a different local high school, Newtown High, started working at the coffee shop about a month ago, and enjoys his science shirts because she laughs at the joke every time he wears one.

“So I noticed you like science.”

“Huh?”

“Your shirts? They’re almost exclusively science jokes.”

“Oh, yeah.” Peter glances down at his shirt. Today he chose the black “The Physics is Theoretical but the Fun is Real!” shirt.

“Here’s your coffee. I wouldn’t stick around because as soon as my shift’s over I have somewhere I need to be, so I only have a few minutes.”

“Okay, I need to head home anyway. Thanks (Y/N). Talk to you later.” Peter takes his coffee and heads towards the door.

Before he can get to far from the shop (Y/N) drives up to Peter on the sidewalk, “Hey Peter! Don’t forget to look at the cup before you throw it away!” And then she was gone as quickly as she appeared.

What does she mean… oh! Peter looks down at his cup to see more than the usual writing on his cup.

“Do you have 11 protons because you are sodium cute!” was written on the side of his cup in small, neat handwriting. Peter smiles to himself and continues his walk home.

“What’s go you all smiley there Parker?” May asks him once he gets back to their apartment.

“Oh, uh, it’s nothing.”

“You sure it’s nothing? Hey, what’s that on your cup there?” May reaches for the cup and takes it out of Peter’s hand,” Aww Peter, that’s cute! Is this from that girl at the coffee shop?”

“Wha-what girl? I don’t-”

“Oh, don’t try to deny it. I’ve seen you at the coffee shop just sitting there talking. She’s cute. Have you tried flirting with her because she obviously is trying to flirt with you.”

Peter blushes but tells May that he’d tried to flirt with the cute barista, but gets tongue-tied and fumbles over his words. He tells May about when he first came into the shop and he kept getting distracted and how (Y/N) told him she was sure she’d see him again soon. And how about he’d gone in there everyday after school to order a coffee that was only ever half drank by the time he had to leave, just so he could talk to her.

“Whoa (Y/N), you wrote what on his cup?” (Y/F/N) asks with wide eyes.

“I just wrote a science joke.”

“Yeah but you called him cute too.”

“So? I‘ve told you he’s been trying to flirt with me too but he gets messed up with his words. So I decided I’d give it a shot and be the one to flirt.”

“But tell me what you wrote again.”

“Do you have 11 protons because you are sodium cute.” (Y/N) blushes and looks at her phone in her hand, trying to distract herself from her friends stare.

“You two are such nerds. I need to meet him before you flirt with him anymore. To find out if he’s actually worth your time or not.”

“Alright (Y/F/N). Come with me to work tomorrow. He comes in everyday after school. “

(Y/F/N) agrees to come with you to work tomorrow and meet Peter. But she also says that you two need to get to work and finish the mountain of homework you’d been assigned that day.

The next day, as always, Peter walks into the coffee shop and right up to the counter.

“The usual?”

“Always.”

Peter takes his usual seat at the end of the counter and starts a conversation about what you had done at school today.

“Really nothing interesting. I bet your day would be better to talk about.” (Y/N) eyes (Y/F/N) sitting in the corner of the shop, just watching Peter.

“I’m pretty sure your day was more interesting than mine. I do the same thing everyday, and you’ve basically heard it a million times. So come on, how was your day?” (Y/N) looks at Peter and he’s genuinely interested. He’s not just asking to seem nice. He’d rather hear about your day that talk about his, even though he knows you do the same thing everyday too.

The barista sighs and smiles and begins telling the curly headed boy about her day. It’s the same story that never changes except for what drama is going around the school. By the time she finished telling Peter about her day, she had his drink ready and another nerdy comment written on it. This time it read “You must be the square root of -1, because you can’t be real.”

“Here ya go Peter.”

The first thing Peter does this time is check his cup. Hoping for another comment like the last one. He was not disappointed when he read the cup and laughed.

Back at the counter (Y/N) takes (Y/F/N)’s order.

“You're right (Y/N). He is cute. And he seems nice. Maybe he's not that bad after all.” (Y/F/N) whispers after she placed her order.

(Y/N) blushes as she puts in the girls order and handled the payment.

(Y/F/N) took a seat next to Peter at the end of the counter and starts a conversation with the barista while there is a lull in her and Peter’s.

“Hey Peter, since you're here, this is my best friend, (Y/F/N). We go to school together.”

“Hiya Peter. As (Y/N) said, I'm (Y/F/N).”

“Hi, uh, I'm Peter. But that's obvious, sorry.”

(Y/F/N), (Y/N), and Peter sit and talk for a few hours, (Y/F/N) and Peter getting to know each other a bit more.

“Well guys I hate to do it but I'm running late and have some work to do tonight so I gotta run. Bye (Y/F/N). See you tomorrow (Y/N)?”

The barista nods and smiles.

“Awesome. See you tomorrow.” Peter gets up to leave, leaving a napkin on the counter with his name and number written on it for (Y/N).

Since Peter left his number in the shop, him and (Y/N) have talked more than ever. He still stops in the shop and has nerdy lines written on his cup every day, but now after (Y/N) get off work, they text each other too.

So what are you doing after school tomorrow?

What do I always do after school? I come see you at the shop

Well yeah you always do that, I meant after that. Do you have any plans? It's Friday tomorrow.

They can be rescheduled. What do you have in mind?

I'm not sure yet. Maybe a movie?

Sounds good. We can plan what movie at the shop tomorrow?

Yeah, sounds good. See you tomorrow?

Always.

(Y/N) doesn't answer, but Peter doesn't really need an answer.

The next day at the shop Peter places his usual order and sits in his usual seat and starts up his usual conversation.

“Here ya go Pete.”

“Thanks (Y/N).”

Peter checks his cup for another line from (Y/N). Today's line reads “Are you a carbon sample? Because I want to date you.”

“Hey (Y/N), did you just ask me out using a coffee cup and a nerdy pickup line?”

“Maybe I did Parker. Well what do ya say?”

Peter laughs and smiles at the girl behind the counter, “Of course. Yes, I'll date you.”

The barista smiles back.

“The movie tonight can count as our first date Parker. Are you ready to go? My shift’s about over.”

Peter smiles again, “Yeah, let's go.”

A month later, Peter and (Y/N) were still together.

During that month they were together, (Y/N) had gone over to Peter's apartment and saw the Spider-Man suit in his room. He tried to cover it up saying it was a Halloween costume but he had been found out.

Peter still stops in the shop everyday. (Y/N) still writes nerdy lines on his cup everyday. But now his coffee’s just a bit cheaper.

“It's a superhero discount, Peter. I’m kidding, I'm kidding! It's just my employee code that makes it cheaper.”

"Damn, I really wanted the hero discount."

"Sorry super nerd, but the discount is for adults only."

Peter tries to look offended, but the smile on his face gives him away as he and (Y/N) laugh, she hands him his coffee with the usual cheeky smile and the knowledge that the pick up line she put on his cup was a little different today, “I used to waste time chasing butterflies, but nowadays because of you, I have them in my stomach.”

Sure, it was a little cheesy and had nothing to do with the usual nerdy pick up lines, but it makes Peter smile all the same.

He knew he fell for the right girl in that exact moment.

I’ll start with the first stories I put on here:

Angels

I wrote angels based off a picture I took and edited and part 1 did pretty well and I am honestly going to say that it only did well because Rissa reblogged it and people saw it. Now I say that because part 2 flopped hard. Part 1 didn’t do super hot and only got like 17 notes and 2 of those are from me. But Part 2 literally got like 3 notes and one of them was from me. So because of this, I think the only updates I’ll do for Angels is if it’s requested or I’m just struck with some awesome inspiration. Yes, it’s a cute story. Yes, it has a good concept. Yes, it will always have a special place in my heart bc it’s what got me out there. But no one really seems to want to read it. And if you do, the link to my very short masterlist will be at the end. They’re linked there. Thank you and now onto fandom things. 

Something’s Brewing

This is the first ever fandom piece I ever wrote and honestly is probably my favorite. I CANNOT believe how much love it’s gotten and how much people have liked it and I will never be able to thank any of you enough for that. It’s at 302 notes right now and that literally blows my mind. To everyone that has liked, reblogged, talked about it and shown it to others, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. 

I was asked if I would be doing a part 2 to this and I can’t say for sure I will but I also won’t say I won’t. If I get the idea to to a part 2 and can do it then yes totally I will. But if nothing ever strikes me for a part 2 then probably not. But again I cannot stress enough how thankful I am to each and everyone of you that helped make that story a success, and it being my first ever fandom piece as well. 

Costume Trouble

Of all the 4 fics I have on here this one has the most notes, sitting right now at 319. I’ve said this before but I’ll say it a million times if it get’s my point across, I CANNOT believe how much love it’s gotten and how much people have liked it and I will never be able to thank any of you enough for that. It’s at 302 notes right now and that literally blows my mind. To everyone that has liked, reblogged, talked about it and shown it to others, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. I don’t really have much else to say about this one because I don’t think I’ll do a part two to this one. I like the way Em helped me end it and I think it’s pretty good the way it is. So i think that’s all I have to say about this one. 

Now for the important stuff- New fics and new things. 

I was sent an ask for another fic I’ll be talking about here shortly, and it was a couples costume idea of Bonnie and Clyde. I decided I wanted to turn that into an AU and had some support and backup for that. But I am sadly deciding that, as much as I love the idea and would love to write this, I don’t feel like I would be the best author to put this into place which means that I will not be writing this AU. I have never written anything like that before and honestly I don’t feel it would be any good. So long story short, I will not be writing this AU and if anyone else wants to write it feel free to and tag me because I want to read it!! Now onto things I will be writing!! 

So first up on my list of things I will be writing is another Halloween themed Peter fic. I’ve talked about it before but it’ll basically be “reader takes Peter trick or treating for the first time”. I haven’t started it yet and haven’t decided for sure what costumes they’ll be in. But feel free to ask me about it. Just please don’t hound me about it bc I do have school and prepping for college and essays to write every week so it may take me a while. 

Next up is a thing the lovely @quackmom helped me develop earlier. There will be no reader inset to these short stories. These are based on cute things Aunt May and Peter do during the day or weekends or anything like that. Think quirky cute family things like making dinner and dancing around the kitchen and things like that. I may post an example later but don’t hold me to that bc I don’t know yet. I am very very excited for these and I really hope you are too. And honestly if you want send in ideas for these as well. That’s help me keep them going. 

 I will be starting these as soon as I can and will keep you all updated on the progress of any fic if you’d like. Just let me know what y’all want.
