Pregnancy fics: alrighty that’s a yay! I have a soft spot for pregnancy/kid fics and if it’s just the right amount of drama and fluff with spuffy it works so well

Kid fic: yayyy and the same reasoning from the previous trope; I think they’re always interconnected

Human AU: naaaay… I only read one spuffy human au fic that was super good but usually I avoid them, just don’t think their dynamic works the same way without the supernatural aspect

Celebrity AU: kind of same as human au? nay

Time Travel AU: sometimes yay sometimes nay depends if I’m in the mood; also depends how time travel is handled because frankly I’m tired of spuffy fics in which either Spike or Buffy travel back in time to fix the past… meh, avoid them now. But I’m curious what rec you got ??

Ensouled Spike x Buffy: generally yay because I love s7 rewrites and post-series fics very much but if a writer approaches the fact he’s ensouled now as if that’s the only way they could be together? nay.

Soulless Spike × Buffy: oh pfff BIG YAY, I don’t think I even have to explain like their angstiest smuttiest sauciest fics are s5-6 so yep

William Pratt (from the past) x Buffy: Nay; read one fic I think with this trope and it was alright but generally I avoid them

William Pratt (post Shanshu) × Buffy: I’ve read one fic in which Spike became human via shanshu and it was horrible for him and the fic was just so angsty… and I haven’t read any others so nay. TBH I wouldn’t want him to get shanshu in canon… hot take?

Feral Spike AU: nay

Feral Buffy AU: nay unless it’s something I’ve read before that just didn’t have this tag?

Soulmate AU: something between yay and nay because I CAN read those but I don’t usually feel appealed by them. Spike and Buffy to me is all about choosing each other rather than being bound to be together by fate

Role Reversal AU (as in Vamp!Buffy, Slayer!William): never read one… if you have a rec I might consider but sort of never came upon any? I have one on my tbr list with William as a watcher and Vamp!Buffy tho

Vamp!Buffy AU: sort of nay because I once tried reading them and Buffy didn’t feel like Buffy and I couldn’t really reconcile with that but also not a complete nay because maybe I just haven’t found the right fic yet
