Ice Cubes & Super Soldiers
Ice in the 1920s ice was delivered by truck and in the 1930s youd need to have an icebox refrigerator at home and later the ice cube trays to have iced drinks
WW2 soldiers occassionally got frozen treats like ice cream and ice cubes as incentives to keep them motivated.
After being frozen for 70 years, Bucky and Steve struggle with something so mundane. Ice cubes. If ice is there in the drink, it feels as if the air around them shifts, and their muscles become tight. Their eyes glance around the room to take in all the surroundings as if to see who theyll need to defend themselves against. As if the mundane cube was a warning 'got another mission for you, soldier'. Or was it the cold chill that came from lips on the now icey glass, sipping in a manner to be polite. A chilled drink was something else entirely. That was refreshing, and thirst quenching. But ice, snow, the burn of the cold, that was a brutal reminder that Bucky and Steve werent where they were supposed to be or who they were supposed to be.
