Over the past few months CoMoS has been collaborating with SOM Architects and interior design firm Yabu Pushelberg on a cutting edge hotel in the new Hudson Yards development. The projected plan is to follow the WELL Standard, the world’s first building standard focused exclusively on human health and wellness. The International WELL Building Institute joins design and construction with evidence-based research, resulting in a built environment designed to support wellbeing. The hotel will feature dynamic lighting, which synchronizes color temperature with the day and night. Light will range from cool white which entrains the circadian system with the day by suppressing melatonin, to very warm light for evening use, which is reminiscent of dimmed incandescent lamps and promotes a relaxed atmosphere for better sleep in the evening.
