Ugh. A friend posted a meme on facebook today that read: "it costs $0.00 to be grateful for what you have." This is sort of true, but I have rent and bills and food and shit to pay for, and I don't have a ton of money with which to do those things because student loans and no job at present, so I can, yes, be grateful for what I have, but don't you fucking DARE make me feel guilty for worrying about what I don't have, when I actually need those things to LIVE. Because it feels like a goddamn entitled-millennials-whine-all-the-time meme, and 99.9% of those are completely unjustified. Most of the millennial complaints I've seen go around are usually of the 'we can't afford LIFE because you fucking Boomers and Xers fucked up the economy' type and by golly, if that's whining all the time, you need to get your head out of your ass and meet reality. Nor is it fucking entitled to say 'we want a halfway decent roof over our heads and food on our tables'. I mean, that maybe wasn't the point of the original meme, but the connotations of the statement pissed me off.
