solomorne saying if we had met sooner i might have dedicated my life to you and not the lex is of course crazy, and particularly crazy with a former crime lord rt. sol. holy shit. it is genuinely very important to me that rem and sol never met pre-game, sol knew of notorious void pirate marinos ebram because he casually memorizes wanted lists but they never crossed paths and i don't think he found ebram particularly noteworthy (sol left the sector before rem pulled off his famous ecclesiarchy heist, rem's mildly offended by this). i really enjoy the initial tension b/w them meeting when rem's the legally untouchable rogue trader whose dynasty is allied with the arbites, and the knowledge that only a year or so ago it would have been drastically different, but they can only imagine what that would've been like while figuring out how to navigate the current reality. i have a strongly established Concept of you but it doesn't apply anymore, i have to discard it and try to figure out the actual person in front of me.
All that to say: if they were goofing around with a notorious void pirate having belligerent sexual tension with the arbitrator hunting him down scenario the question is whether it would be hotter as a corruption kink thing or a 'the dick was so crazy he saw the light of the god-emperor' situation
