The moment you stepped out of the grasp of TAP, you became the Sarentu's warrior champion. At first, like any young hunter, you made missteps. But you quickly grew into a fierce flyer alongside your ikran, taking down RDA facilities alone, helping the other clans and building the resistance.
Sol'ek's eyes followed your figure as you mounted your bonded, set out for a night time attack. You had been working tirelessly against the RDA ever since you had the capabilities to. But lately, it had grown too much. You had lost the light in your eyes. Hate was taking over your heart. He had seen it, day in and day out you fought, and you'd come back exhausted and sometimes scratched up to prove it.
Tonight was like any other night. It was raining, the skies gloomy and foggy. You crouched outside a larger RDA base, one that had to be taken with precision and stealth. Your bones ached, muscles tightened as you made your way towards the daunting grey walls. You whispered, Pressing the comms on your neck "Priya, give me the intel on this base."
"You'll have to take out the two smaller drills and then destroy the control room's terminals- be careful!"
"As always." You breathed out, as you quickly scaled the lifeless walls. You dropped into the base silently, laser focused. You slinked your way towards the first drill through the shadows, ducking behind cover. Your arrows whistled through the wind and caught RDA soldiers, avoiding the amp suits. You noticed a drop off area, a drill was just below you.
Thinking it was clear, not hearing otherwise, you dropped down. Mid air, you heard the mechanical drill of an amp suit behind you and- WHAM!- It punched your arm, the force sending you flying forward onto your hands and knees. A lightning bolt of pain flashed through your left shoulder, entire arm and side. You felt pressure in your arm in places you were sure wasn't normal.
Hearing loud unnatural footsteps coming your way, you turned onto your back, narrowly avoiding another punch. "You're not getting away this time blue!" the soldiers' distorted voice rang in your ears. You quickly hopped up to your feet, grabbing your knife and stabbed into the amp suit's driver. The movement caused you to cry out in pain.
Hearing distant yelling getting closer was drowned out by a blaring siren, the lights around you suddenly flashing red. You felt your heart drop and your breath grow desperate. Your arm was unusable, you dared not to look, but you knew it was bad.
Grabbing your knife out from the soldier, you scampered into the shadows and towards the outer wall again. You managed to make it, but you felt your legs starting to give out from exhaustion. The adrenaline wasn't helping you anymore- the pain was shooting through your back and arm like fire and it didn't stop. You fell down onto your good side behind a set of stairs, out of line of sight of amps and regular soldiers.
Tears streaming down your cheeks and your chest heaving erratically, you weakly pressed on your comms in a final desperate attempt. "I'm down- at the facility.. I can't- I can't-" Your vision was blurring, and your breathing slowed. You blinked, then everything went dark.

So'lek was at the resistance in Kinglor forest when he got your comms. "No-no.." he could barely whisper, his heart sunk. Without thinking he readied his bow and rifle immediately. Priya ran over to ask him to go- but he was already practically running out to Iley.
The warrior tried and failed to keep his breathing in check as he flew through the forest towards your location. So'lek felt like he was flying for hours to get to you, but it must have been less than one. His mind started racing to all the possibilities-- you could be captured, injured-- His whole body felt tense, he remembered his clan, he remembered the aftermath of the battle of Ayram Alusing. "I can't lose more- I can't lose you." he whispered through gritted teeth.
He finally landed outside the base within the forest, making his way up a tree to get a better vantage point. From the corner of his eye he saw your ikran looking stressed, flapping her wings and crying out. He took a ragged breath in, his eyes flicking back towards the sky people's base. It was so wrong to see her without you, the two of you protecting each other. He closed his eyes and steadied his heart, he thought of you, the light in your eyes, your smile, he needed to see it again.
With his face as cold as stone, his heart filled with purpose and his weapons prepared, he headed towards the base.

"Ma' Tamtey, Tamtey!" So'lek cried, his voice desperate and hoarse.
You grimaced and your eyes slowly opened, blinking away the shock of light. There was a strong ringing in your ears- his voice barely came through it. You had no idea what was going on, where you were. So'lek held you, his arms tight around your body. His wild eyes softened as you awakened. "Ah-" he gasped. You tried to move closer to him, but you yelped in pain, your vision faltered.
Finally you realized what was happening. Your ears picked up the sounds of sirens, and your eyes red flashing lights once more. So'lek carefully lifted you in his arms. You realized that he had blood splattered on him.
In worry you whispered out, "Are you okay?"
He couldn't help but let out the tiniest of chuckles at that, pressing his hand to his forehead and shaking his head. "I should be asking that to you." His smile dropped quickly. You couldn't blame him, the situation- everything- it was too much. Your heart still hurt.
But he kept glancing down at you, his pale yellow eyes much softer than when you first saw him. He was still worried, but that first look--he looked so different, so hardened yet so scared. You had never seen him like that. He lifted you onto Iley and you yelped, the wind rushing from your lungs.
"--It's bad, isn't it?" you gasped, leaning towards your arm, which you still didn't have the courage to look at.
"We will be okay." was all he said. His eyes told it all, you could get through this together. You were both strong.
As you rode back to base, you were at least able to find some comfort in the skies, feeling the wind on your skin, in So'lek's embrace. You sat in front of him and leaned your head against his chest, trying your best to breath deeply and steadily.
It was a quiet ride home, you were just trying to fight through the pain, and So'lek didn't bother you with conversation. You'd grimace every so often and he'd flinch, no doubt fearing the pain you were in.

You were on a medical cot when you finally looked down at your arm. So'lek was there with you. In fact, he never left your side since he saved you from the base.
Your mouth fell open as you stared down at your arm. From your right side, So'lek placed a hand on yours. As Hajir came over with medicine you tilted your head back away, towards So'lek again. "It- It looks-" You took a shaky breath inward. You were a warrior, it's true- you had killed plenty of RDA. But something about seeing your arm mangled like that brought you back to reality. Tears welled up in your eyes again, and you went to brush them away.
So'lek did so before you could, blinking. "I know, Tamtey." he gave you that signature half lipped smile he always did. It made you feel a bit better. "I-.. I know you do not want to hear it." he stopped, reading your expression, his hand still caressing your cheek.
You nodded, giving permission and sniffling slightly. Whatever it was, it was probably true.
"You have been doing too much. You cannot just go off without rest all the time. You got injured today, but you could have gotten killed- you are being reckless-" He started rambling, his voice filling with emotion. It sounded, angry. Hurt.
"So'lek please-" you frowned, your eyes welling up from a different pain now. It hurt. It hurt to hear your favourite voice saying these words, stinging against your soul.
He swallowed shakily, "I'm sorry. I... I thought I lost you."
Those words broke your heart. "Oh, So'lek." You reached out to him, placing your hand on his chest, he instincively leaned towards you, bringing his hand to hold your wrist, holding on for life. You knew what this meant. You knew his background, you understood now more than ever why he was acting this way.
"When I found you, you- you were covered in blood and barely breathing. I heard your voice in the comms ringing in my ears.. And your arm-- You don't know how relieved I was when you awoke." his voice was a whisper, but so full of emotion, you heard the pain of the past and present in it.
"Ma' So'lek. I'm here. You have such a strong heart," You pulled him into a hug with your good arm, and he eagerly accepted, being careful not to touch your bad side. You laughed breathily, in a relieved sort of half crying way, and he did too.
He pulled away to look at you, "I see you, Tamtey"
"I see you, So'lek."

would you guys read a fic of Se'li (my oc) x So'lek in third person? I started writing second person literally only a few months ago for reader x blank, and i fear I'm still not used to it..
but I'm so excited for this fic, she will be somewhat of a motherly figure towards the young Sarentu as she is an older one! And the angst and tension that is about to happen between her and our dog tag warrior....... I'm cooking
