My store hosted a party for the trail running group based out of there, the Rocktown Ridge Runners. Basically all local runners that are a part of the group are interested in joining were invited. There was a really great turnout - so many people showed up! And NEW people!!

It was a potluck, so there was LOTS of really great food. And then the store gave away 7 pairs of shoes and LOTS of socks, so that was cool for people to win stuff.

There was an 1 hour+ talk given by a guy representing Function Movement Systems, and it was actually pretty cool. It was an awesome spin on physical therapy - it was just more functional and made more sense. It's basically built off the idea that the whole body is connected and pain and source or pain can be different areas. Injuries can occur from asymmetry or weak/sleepy muscles. It was interesting.

I don't know I haven't mentioned this before, but I have a job! I work at a local shoe store up here in Harrisonburg, VA! My sister started working here 4 years ago, and she worked all 4 years while she went here to JMU. Then the sister who was a year above here, started working there as well! They have both graduated and stopped working there, but I asked if they needed anybody, and they said they would love to have me!

I started working there August, 28 during the first week of school. I'm still kind of training and learning, but I can sell some shoes for the most part. It's cool because they do have a small running shoe section which I love. Also, I can order SO many things at wholesale price. Not even just shoes. I'm talking gel shots, climbing ropes and other climbing equipment, running clothes, tri equipment, camping gear, etc. I also get two free pairs of shoes a year, and I get a free season pass to the small, local ski slopes here.
