if you know me...you know i cannot stand the ace attorney sequels 😰 ( with the exception of aa4! ) I'M SORRY. i don't like the writing, the pacing, the plot...i find the 3D graphics charmless compared to the spritework of 1-4... they never seem to take enough time to deal with their own themes, and SO, LITERALLY, the only thing that saves the sequels for me are rpers in this community who write the sequel characters with far more care and nuance than the games ever did!!! it's a blast to see you guys rescue them from their canon!

i think...looking at my history with calum i would say balance. he has a really tragic backstory and while it does affect him to this day, there are other happier, lighter sides to him too!! he’s not constantly thinking about say his wife’s passing, etc. part of this does come from me being a little too into angst ( and also being overly serious ) in the past and while i have grown out of my angst phase, i still worry a little...these days i prefer to keep the darker parts of calum's backstory strictly to my own prose writing.

Imperceptibly, Ryoma's jaw stiffened beneath the mantle of his faceplate, his eyes steely before smoothing out into calm reception. Joker was trying (in more ways than one, the emperor could sarcastically add), and it would be remiss of any to smack down the proverbial olive branch, even for fleeting temper's sake.

He, like the rest of his siblings, would continue to more than attempt to care for Kamui; in time, perhaps even the blindest fool could be made to see it so.

"Cats and purple..." came the quiet echo, murmured in the way of scribes consigning all to memory. Spring, though remembered, remained silent, held instead in the lion's heart -- though by the nature of their relationship, it could be presumed Kamui had revealed her past and scars to Joker, Ryoma could not bank upon such a fact with certainty. For all the hurt done to her in darkness, born of the darkness in a mad dragon's dying heart, it was fitting to him that she should have a love of the light, of rebirth and new hope.

What a lonely month on the road it has been, wandering from town to town in search of her beloved husband and son. How long had it been since she shared a meal with someone else? Perhaps too long. 

Maybe this is why, in the depths of Aiko’s growing loneliness, that this stranger approaching her table in the midst of dinner didn’t elicit an immediate “no” from her. Besides, here, she was in the safety of the crowd- of other customers in the tavern and of the waitstaff. If anything happened, gods forbid, there would at least be witnesses.

"Ah, Yuta, it’s okay, I can-” He grumbles as he involuntarily drops his paperwork for what must be the tenth time in the past two hours. How does Yuta do it, speaking, let alone arguing, in front of a group of strangers on almost a weekly basis for a living? Calum can barely give the medical profiles without being told he needed to ‘speak up’ or ‘repeat himself’- two phrases he’d rather not have to hear ever again if he doesn’t have to. Calum GRUMBLES, scratching the back of his head. It doesn’t help that this time he’ll have to present evidence to the High Court of Khura’in.

His daily ritual had gotten longer, now adjusting to the early morning schedule and a growing law-firm that was much more busy than his origins, the WAA far, but not from mind. It would be another three hours  before they would open their doors and consultations would be accepted as scheduled.

 Though not enough time to dislodge Nayuta from his new mission.  His back is pressed on the bathroom door, phone tossed in a hurry to save himself from the insistent effort on the other side.
