Are You Ready for the Eclipse?
Rarely in our human times do we experience eclipses at all. This month, we’ll have two of them, each sending us in very different directions, and encouraging our growth and development in unique ways.
On October 8th, smack dab in the season of Libra, we had a Lunar Eclipse in the Aries (Libra’s opposite). The Full Moon ended one phase, begun September 23rd with the New Moon in Libra, and aspected a slew of planets. Lunar eclipses involve things that have been hidden — secrets, lies, hidden talents, disowned feelings — and asks, more likely demands, that they be revealed. And you don’t want to be on the wrong end of that!
On October 23rd, this Thursday, we’ll have a partial Solar Eclipse as both the Sun enters Scorpio, and the New Moon appears in 0 degrees of Scorpio. Interestingly, Venus enters Scorpio at the very same time, in the very same degree, so the three are conjunct for a brief time (since each moves at a different speed).
Solar eclipses are kind of the opposite. They demand that things be brought to light. So those disowned feelings you may have discovered during the last eclipse? Time to process them or let them go. Those hidden talents, or pointless gossip you keep getting pulled into? That stuff may not be in your best interests.
Thursday also features a sextile of the Moon and Mars, and a trine of the Moon to Neptune in Pisces. This is an indicator of dreams coming true, and the stuff of dreams being able to become reality with enough Mars (read: action-oriented) energy behind them. All in all, it’s a really productive week that also marks almost the end of Mercury retrograde! It’ll go direct in Libra on Saturday, helping all of us (and our technologies) breathe a little easier.
But clearly, this week’s astrology begins to point us in a more relaxed and productive direction. Here’s to our shared goals being realized!
