first of all, characters: the choice of a sentient rock for a secondary lead is fucking hilarious and fantastic, especially with the robotic deadpan voice, grace on the other hand also did great, i especially love how... well everything about him, he feels very human, like of course you wouldn't want to go on a one way trip to nowhere, even to save humanity.

Now the movie: the premise is pretty good, essentially some small bacteria is eating the sun and they need to find a way to stop it, the solution? Well they build a ship on a one way trip to tau-ceti, the only system which is not actively dying from the astrophage.

The moments(TM): they're pretty good I'd say, was very close to crying a few times throughout the movie, and the tense moments felt pretty tense.

Last but definitely not least, the resolution (mild spoilers for the theme of the ending): ||i like it quite a lot, it has the correct mix of sad and good and the last scene is rly funny, and in contrast to my other favorite sci-fi media, Lost in Space, the ending isnt just the power of friendship saves the day and everything was well, which i like, i enjoy nuanced endings
