More limited color illustrations here. When creating Black heroes, a love for Black people has to be felt through the artists work.

Character Studies / creations, etc. are really about “what if’s” to me. “What if a person lived in this place or that place and was faced with these issues or that issues... What if a person had this or that skill, talent or abilities.. how would they use these skills to surmount their challenges? Or help other people with their challenges? Sigh... my brain hurts. But This is the awesome stuff I think about constantly. I firmly believe environment builds the character - but as a visual person it is honestly fun to, at times image the character then imagine a world where his being makes sense. This is the journey of the African Hero in particular because although he or she comes from a specific culture/climate/environment, he or she is continually trying reshape and evolve the culture that give him or her birth. And in that way there becomes a very cyclical nature to the idea of “character creation or study”..... So until next time enjoy this nice brotha here... Man in Fila and Shoulder cloth. Peace!

Weeeellll, its been some time since my last post to Tumblr. This will be changed in the near future as I begin to dedicated more time to my art. Not say that I haven’t been working (creatively speaking), I HAVE! My career as an artist is very important to me and my family. So many images have been swirling in my head of late and I have just GOT to release these spirits and give them life on paper, digital screen and the like. Please stay tuned.
