"Slye…?" 

A more timid response than usual from someone who is usually so quick to just speak out without thought. It’s probably the time because honestly despite the fact that it’s a little later than she meant to be she still wants to give him a New Year’s kiss.

The time has made her miss him so much that it honestly almost has her tears when she rushes over to almost pounce him. She’s got to get her hugs in before she presses a kiss to his lips and then starts snuggling him again.

"I’ve missed you! I’ve missed you so much!"

He wasn’t surprised to see her, exactly. He knew she would always be around at the best times, and a break from work allowed him to finally, finally see her again after so long. Slye’s chest ached from seeing her look so sad for a moment, and he pulled her close as tightly as he could just to feel her there. 

For a moment, the dark grey that his eyes had stayed for months showed a hint of blue mixed with brown. He couldn’t help the bittersweet happiness as he kissed her back and pulled her close again.
