The fruit this summer was different.
same variety. same plot. same amount of care. but somehow — sweeter. heavier. the kind of tomato that actually tastes like a tomato should.
i've been reading about what humic acid does at the soil level: it helps plants photosynthesize more efficiently, absorbs water better between rains, increases the sugar content in fruit naturally. not through force — through balance.
there's something that feels right about food that grew from a more complete soil. less extracted. more arrived at.
i'm not sure i can explain it better than that.
