Software engineering is split into two majors in my school. I know some very talented programmers, although I am an Industrial Engineering major myself. I go to Texas A&M University. People go into computer engineering, or computer science for it. Comp Engr is for people who want to deal with the "electrical engineering" side of software engineering (the more "physical" side of the major, per se) while Comp Sci is for people who want to code. Personally, I know more people in computer science, including a few close friends of mine. Like I said, very talented people, help me out with my programming all the time, and they basically learn all the languages under the rainbow that perhaps laymen can recognize. A&M is known for its top engineering programs in Texas and the US. Umm... What else, I'm answering this publicly in case anyone else is interested in Computer Science or is pursuing engineering. It's awesome that you know what you want to do btw. I went into engineering having no idea what I really wanted. And I found out I'm good at statistics and system planning so that's why I'm doing Industrial. I wish you luck in that, man. And thanks for liking stuff I post. This blog is very therapeutic for me.
